Sudbury Seniors Center - Moving Forward series

The Sudbury MA Seniors center has organized a four part series to help provide information to seniors about getting their affairs in order.

As a Seniors Real Estate Specialist I was asked to participate, so last Tuesday, I spoke with a group of about 35 people who have lived in their present homes for at least 20 years and some for more than 40! Imagine how things have changed since these folks were in the real estate market -- thinge like home inspections, agency regulations, etc. just didn't exist!

I gave them an overview of what they need to do to get ready to sell - all of the environmental regulations - Title V septic rule, lead paint, carbon monxide detectors, smoke detectors, radon. I talked about home inspections, how long things take from offer to closing and the steps in between. Also, I offered some special reports to help them on various topics, ie maintaining their homes, reverse mortgages, etc.

They took lots of notes, asked questions, and seemed to appreciate the information. It was great provide this information. The more people know, the better they can prepare and save time, money, and stress!

Are you over 50? Or, do you have a relative or friend who's been in their home forever and needs to start thinking about what's next? Don't hesitate to contact me for information, or visit http://www.MarilynMessenger.com to request reports and information that can help you to help them.
