When thinking about remodeling it's helpful to have a realistic idea on ROI/return on investment. Additionally, it's important not to over-improve for the neighborhood and to understand that sometimes remodeling or updating won't bring you a direct return, but will make the difference whether or not your house sells especially if there are a lot of similar homes on the market.
